Karl Wildi

Karl Wildi began his working career in 1945 with the Montreal firm P.S. Ross & Sons (the parent company is now known as Deloitte and Touche). In 1952 he joined Butterfield & Steinhoff, a Bermuda-based firm of Chartered Accountants and was made a Partner in 1956 (parent company is now known as KPMG). In 1958 he joined the Headquarters of the Bata Shoe Organization in London, England, and in 1965 he was appointed Treasurer of Bata Limited.

In 1969, Mr. Wildi joined Dominion Securities Limited as VP Finance and a Director of the Firm. In 1975 he joined the sporting goods company Cooper Canada, as VP Finance and Director, and in 1979 he joined Warner Lambert Canada as VP Finance & Distribution.

In 1984 he rejoined the Bata Shoe Organization in Bermuda as Executive Vice President of the prime holding company.

He received his Chartered Accountant designation from the Québec Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1951.

At various times Mr. Wildi has served as Chairman of the Finance and Fund Raising Committees for the Salvation Army in Bermuda, and he has served on the Board of the Association of Bermuda International Companies. He is currently a Trustee of BIOS, the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences and recently retired as Chairman of the Audit Committee. He continues to serve as a member of both the Audit and Finance Committees.
